Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2026
Foodish Media ("Foodish Media," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you visit foodishmedia.com (the "Site") or interact with us by email or through our contact form.
We handle personal information in accordance with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA") and, where applicable, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation ("CASL").
1. Who we are
Foodish Media is a creator economy agency operating in Canada and creating content for food brands globally.
- Contact email: hello@foodishmedia.com
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide through our contact form
When you submit our contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company (if provided)
- The project type you select
- The message you write to us
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) may automatically log technical information, including:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version
- Referring page and pages viewed
- Date and time of access
- Approximate geographic region (derived from IP)
These server logs are used for security, troubleshooting, and operating the Site. We currently do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics product. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this Policy and our Cookie & Tracking Policy.
2.3 Cookies and similar technologies
We currently use only the minimal cookies and session tokens required for Firebase Hosting and Firestore to function. See our Cookie & Tracking Policy for details.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, including:
- Responding to your inquiry and following up about potential services
- Preparing proposals or quotes for work you've asked about
- Operating, maintaining, and securing the Site
- Complying with legal obligations
Under CASL, if we send you a commercial electronic message (for example, a newsletter or promotional offer), we will do so only with your consent — express or implied under the circumstances permitted by CASL — and every such message will identify us and provide an unsubscribe mechanism.
4. Legal basis and consent
By submitting your information through our contact form or by emailing us, you consent to our collection and use of that information for the purposes described above. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting our Privacy Officer (see Section 9). Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to respond to your inquiry or provide services.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with the limited service providers we rely on to run the Site and respond to inquiries:
- Google Firebase (Firebase Hosting, Firestore): hosts the Site and stores contact form submissions. Google is bound by its own privacy commitments and processes data on our behalf.
- Web3Forms (email forwarding): forwards contact form submissions to our email inbox so we can respond.
- Our own email and business systems: used to respond to and manage your inquiry.
We may also disclose information where required by law, by court order, or to protect our legal rights.
6. International transfers
Because we use Google Firebase and other cloud-based providers, your personal information may be stored or processed on servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions outside Canada. While in another country, your information is subject to the laws of that country, which may permit government or court access in ways different from Canadian law. By using the Site, you acknowledge this transfer and processing.
7. Retention
We keep contact form submissions and related correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, fulfill a resulting engagement, and meet legal, accounting, or recordkeeping requirements. Where we are not actively in contact and have no legal reason to retain your information, we aim to delete or anonymize it within 24 months of last meaningful contact. Server logs are typically retained for a shorter period as part of normal hosting operations.
8. Security
We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and reliance on reputable cloud providers. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights under PIPEDA
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Withdraw consent to our use or disclosure of your information, subject to legal or contractual limits; and
- Make a complaint about how we handle your information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Privacy Officer:
Privacy Officer, Foodish Media
Email: hello@foodishmedia.com
We will respond within the timeframes required by PIPEDA. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
10. Children
The Site is intended for businesses and adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact our Privacy Officer and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
